Customer Testimonials

Mustang Advanced Engineering has been an industry leader in the production of high quality dynamometers and test systems for over 35 years. Below are just a few examples of our family of satisfied customers.

I want to extend my gratitude for a job well done. Mustang could not have selected a more professional team to represent them. AMC really appreciated the professional and can do attitude that you and your teammate diligently showed from the time your boots hit the sand. Mustang answered all questions and cleared any concerns that the commissioning team had. I know this was not an easy task with the harsh weather and limited resources that you had to work with. With this at hand, you and your teammate pulled this mission off with ease.

This was my first time dealing with Mustang, but I will say I hope it will not be the last. Speaking for myself only, I would not hesitate to recommend Mustang for any future contract. All this for nothing more than the dedicated service, professionalism and passion that was shown on this project.

Respectfully,

In 2005, Mustang Advanced Engineering and ABB Drives began a successful partnership supplying high performance high technology solutions to the Test Stand Industry. ABB Drives has provided Mustang with our ACS800 Series High Performance AC Drives for their performance dynamometer applications. Mustang has successfully implemented our fully regenerative ACS800 AC Drives as well as our standard non regenerative ACS800's. Mustang has implemented our drives from 100 to 600 Hp on their applications.
Mustang Advanced Engineering is a world leader in supplying the latest technology to the test stand industry. The Engineering group at Mustang has applied the ACS800 Drives on Engine, Chassis, and Transmission Stands. Their capability is unmatched in the industry. We at ABB have worked closely with Mustang Engineers to provide the proper drive solution for their highest performance test stands. In a recent application, Mustang used two of our fully regenerative 300 Hp ACS800's on a new All Wheel Drive Chassis Dynamometer Test Stand. I personally visited the final installation of this test stand and was thoroughly impressed with Mustang Product in action!
ABB is number one in the world in the sale of low voltage AC Drives. The products that ABB supplies to Mustang Advanced Engineering is the ACS800 series AC Drive providing ultimate AC motor control performance with our patented Direct Torque Control. Direct Torque Control(DTC) provides incredibly high accuracy and dynamic torque control not achievable with traditional DC Motors or other AC motor control methods. DTC ensures that the AC motor’s torque is the primary control element and not the motors current. With a DTC controlled motor, the current is the result of achieving the desired motor torque. Mustang Advanced Engineering and ABB Drives are a great team and solution provider for the test stand industry. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at (440) 526-0603.

Mustang Advanced Engineering (Mustang AE) and Mustang Dynamometer have been great vendors to California's Air Resources Board in engineering and in supplying a motorcycle/ATV AC chassis dynamometer meeting our evaporative emissions and emissions testing requirements. We are very pleased with the prompt customer and technical support that the Mustang Group's staff has shown us. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always willing to help us with our needs.

This machine was custom designed by Mustang and us to test a remanufactured transmission for a contract customer. It was made for one specific transmission model, but we had an eye toward other models if the situation should arise in the future. After we received and installed the dyne, which went relatively smooth, normal hook up obstacles on our part. The machine ran very well, actually the cycle time was faster then we originally planned for by about 2 minutes. The cycle time including mount and dismount was planned for 10 min. and we are currently right at 71/2 min including pan evacuation.
All the guys at Mustang were very easy to work with all the way through this project. Since we didn't exactly know what we wanted, and didn't know what to expect from the information gathered from each transmission tested. This was the first project of this type we did here.
We had a problem with a hydraulic power pack leaking and they took care of the problem with professionalism and speed to get us running again. It took a couple of tries, but they got it right and haven't had a problem after. Other than a couple software bugs, our system talking to theirs. That was the only mechanical problem we have encountered. We started production in March 2004. Currently we are running 30 units per day with a build capacity of 50.
Overall this project has been a very positive one for our company to insure the quality of our product for our customer. The machine does more than expected and with it we learned a lot about the functionality of this trans unit. When production warrants we will buy another dyne from Mustang.

I have been conducting business with Mustang since early 2001. It has been a pleasure working with Dave Ganzhorn and his engineering/manufacturing team. Mustang has a refreshing way of supporting its products and customers versus a "take it or leave it" attitude I have experienced with other dynamometer manufacturing suppliers.
The dyno team here at Cleveland Engine Plant #2 was experiencing quite a bit of down time in our test cells because of antiquated throttle actuating systems. This issue was brought up during one of Mustang's routine visits to CEP2 and they immediately went to work on a solution to our problem. Mustang quickly responded to the throttle issue by incorporating an entirely new throttle actuating system designed and built by Mustang. Their throttle system made use of servo motors and drives that made the process of calibrating the range (throw) of the actuator much easier to perform. The process of calibrating the old throttle system was very difficult and time consuming. The new system literally takes seconds to setup and has been a "bullet proof" system for us at CEP2.
The response time of Mustang to our issues was expedient and impressive. We weren't expecting a solution to our problem from Mustang but they took it upon them to assist us in our dyno lab. The Mustang sales team and engineering team were professional and extremely knowledgeable in regards to our testing needs and requirements. They were completely flexible to our change requests and the final product is extremely reliable.
I have the utmost confidence in Mustang's ability to support their product and to come up with innovative methods for dynamometer testing. I would highly recommend mustang to anyone who requires dyno equipment and engineering services. Once again, they are extremely knowledgeable and their response time is exceptional.

I want to thank you for the excellent work provided by Mustang on the re-installation of our test equipment from our Indianapolis facility to the R&D Center in Warren. As you know, the project was very complex involving the installation of a variety of equipment from several manufacturers that were interconnected on several floors.
As you also know the project got started off poorly due to the sloppy and hasty removal/storage of the equipment from Indy and the inability to get the Warren facilities prepared for re-installation that happened before Mustang was involved. It was only with the dedication and hard work of you, Mr. Paul Bukowski, and your team that we were able to overcome the slow start, sort out the interface issues, and meet the project deadlines on time and on budget. I truly believe we would not have successfully brought the equipment back on-line without the Mustang Team's hard work.
Compliments have poured in especially about how fast everything came together once we were able to get started. Please know my management and I are very pleased with how everything turned out thanks in a big way to Mustang.

Sincerely,
Gregory J. Rushlow

International Truck and Engine started doing business with Mustang in 1996 and had purchased 10 Dynamometers at 4 International facilities by 2004. In 2004, we had a quality initiative to reduce warranty cost and improve vehicle quality. In order to meet the initiatives we decided to contain the manufacturing problems in the plants. International created 3 new checks to validate the operation of the vehicles. The new process included a Bump Track, Loaded Dyno with electrical testing, and Post Dyno manual checks. International approached Mustang for help on the Loaded Dyno part of the project. Mustang quickly came to the table with a project they were developing called the End of Line Tester. This machine fit into the quality requirements for the project. The EOL machine gave use the ability to monitor the vehicle data bus for errors and performance checks while providing loads on the vehicle causing the vehicle to come to operating temperature quickly.
We currently have a total of 16 Dynos at 5 International facilities. In 2005, International purchased 7 new Dynamometers and upgraded 3 existing Dynos. We are currently actively pursuing upgrades to the remaining Dynamometers.
We have seen these measurable improvements in our transit break downs at the following facilities:
