Mustang Advanced Engineering is a unique company whose expertise in the design and construction of custom test benches rivals just about any other company in the world. While custom chassis dynamometer systems have always been a large part of its core business, MAE has added a wide variety of products and has gained industry-leading expertise in nearly all types of dynamometer test benches including AC and eddy current engine dynamometer systems, transmission test benches, tow dynamometers and custom test benches of all types and sizes. The current MAE product range includes engine test cells, transmission test cells, custom chassis dynamometers, production and in-process test systems, containerized test cells and complete powertrain test cells up to and including truly colossal 8x8 chassis dynamometer systems.
MAE is fortunate to possess very sophisticated engineering capabilities and talents that have developed over many years of doing business in the automotive, industrial and aerospace industries. While some of the engineering MAE does for clients is done on a consulting basis, most of what MAE truly does best is the design and construction of custom, turn-key test systems. As a result, MAE has positioned itself as the supplier of choice when it comes to most types of custom dynamometers and test benches.
Chassis Dynamometers
MAE was built on the tradition of world-class chassis dynamometers. Our engineers have designed and manufactured chassis dynamometer test systems for virtually all types of vehicles and applications ranging from independent all-wheel-drive military vehicles to fractional-powered wheeled vehicles and everything in between. MAE has a chassis dynamometer solution for virtually every application, including but not limited to, emissions, NVH, durability, EMC/RFI, wind tunnel, environmental chambers, and racing performance.
Engine Dynamometers
MAE offers an extensive product offering of dynamometers and engine test cell products for a variety of engine testing applications. MAE's product offering is designed to meet fractional to 25,000+ hp and speeds up to 100,000 rpm, with a complete line of dynamometer controls, data acquisition, engine electronic interface and conditioning modules. MAE offers customers products from a single engine test cell component to complete custom tailored systems or test labs. MAE's extensive range of standard product offerings includes AC, permanent magnet, DC, servo, water-cooled eddy current, air cooled eddy currents, hybrid AC/EC, water brake, hydraulic clutch plate brakes and other sophisticated loading devices.
Transmission Dynamometers
MAE is far and away the industry leader for transmission test stands and transmission test cell components. We offer products to test light duty, medium duty, heavy duty and extreme heavy duty transmissions. Our products are used in advanced research and development labs, prototype labs, production environments, repair and remanufacturing facilities. MAE's transmission test stands operate with a variety of AC, Servo, PM, EC and Hydraulic motors and power absorbers.
Tow Dynamometers
MAE offers the largest and most complete line of tow dynamometers available for test engineers in the industry. Using advanced micro-processor based controls and air-cooled eddy current power absorbers, tow dynamometers are capable of testing vehicles and simulating road profiles taken from pre-recorded data of road grades, hills and mountains without ever having to leave the safe and controlled confines of the flat test track.
Powertrain Test Cells (Hybrid)
MAE offers a comprehensive line-up of powertrain test systems for component to complete powertrain testing requirements. Our powertrain testing product line has developed over the past 35 years from testing single components such as clutches, to complex independent wheel control 6 x 6 vehicles with 12-independent wheel-loading electric AC dynamometers and hybrid dual power plants. Control of sub-systems and powertrain test articles are independently controlled; such as shifting the axles, shifting the transmission, shifting the transfer case, and controlling the input motor (Engine).
Production / In-Process / End of Line Testing
MAE has extensive experience in the field of production/in-process testing and offers a variety of products and services to support your production testing requirements. MAE's engineers will work closely with your team to custom tailor a solution to solve virtually any production testing challenge. MAE has developed systems to handle multi-function vehicle testing, production electronic & wire harness testing, chassis sensor and electronic testing, production engine and transmission testing and many other applications. MAE can upgrade your existing production line hardware and software, interface with existing databases or supply a complete turnkey production testing solution.
High Speed Test Stands
Mustang Advanced Engineering is your partner when it comes to high speed testing applications. Our experienced staff engineers are able to assist you in sizing and designing high speed test stands and support components. Typical High Speed applications include turbines, compressors, motors, engines, gearboxes, transmissions, alternators, generators and other applications requiring speeds in the range of 10,000 to 200,000 rpm. We supply both drive/loading and loading devices for these applications with the associated mounting, alignment and support equipment.
Containerized Test Cells
MAE offers a number of standard modular containerized test cells, from single containerized engine test cells to complete containerized multi-cell test facilities. MAE's containerized test cells are self-contained and fully equipped with all the supply, monitoring and measurement units of a standard test cell facility. MAE's containerized test cells have many distinct advantages including fast and cost-effective relocation of testing facilities and minimized building modification requirements and expense.
Valve Body Testers / Solenoid Testers
Mustang Advanced Engineering is the industry leader for solenoid and valve body tester technologies. Mustang offers computerized control test stands able to evaluate Solenoids and Valve Bodies for research and development, manufacturing QC, Production Line Testing, Remanufactures and Repair and validation equipment. Mustang can also upgrade your existing Valve Body and Solenoid Tester machines with our state of the art Solenoid and Valve Body conversion TCM controller and data acquisition system.
