Twinsburg, Ohio, October 1, 2025: Mustang Advanced Engineering (MAE), a leading manufacturer of advanced dynamometers and testing systems, has designed and installed a custom End-of-Line (EOL) test stand for Textron’s next-generation aircraft tug vehicles.
Textron GSE, a division of Textron Inc., is a global leader in ground support equipment, producing pushbacks, baggage tractors, tow tractors, belt loaders, deicers, power units, and other systems vital to airport operations. To validate the performance of its specialized low-speed, high-torque tug vehicles, Textron required a robust testing solution that could operate seamlessly within a production environment.
MAE worked with Textron’s engineering team to deliver a state-of-the-art test stand featuring a custom dynamometer system. The system replicates real-world load conditions, automates test cycles, and provides real-time data on torque, speed, temperature, vibration, and system response. Its scalable design also supports future vehicle models and expanded test protocols.
The EOL system ensures every tug vehicle is validated under demanding operational stresses, reducing operator variability while improving reliability and efficiency. “Our goal was to deliver a test system that not only verified end-of-line functionality but also provided Textron with actionable data to improve quality assurance and product reliability,” said David Ganzhorn, Vice President of Sales for Mustang Advanced Engineering. “The dynamometer system offers Textron a powerful tool for ensuring every aircraft tug vehicle meets rigorous performance standards before entering service.”
